There a good and bad of both. Just be aware of the quality of the teas that you are buying. The think I like about loose tea is being able to add my own flavors and mixes, but bagged tea is fast and convenient.

i just answered this question for someone who asked about health benefits. In my opinion, both have similar or equal health benefits. Of course, it depends on the type of tea you drink. You tried one loose leaf tea which isn’t a very good comparison. After you try more loose leaf style teas (of good quality), you might find that in general, loose leaf has more flavor and is enjoyed more for its experience. In addition, loose leaf tea can be infused more than once. Some loose tea can be infused up to 10 times! And all this without losing flavor. Try that with a tea bag.

Well as a former chef and a veteran tea drinker both bagged and loose, the quality is the thing, bagged tea is inferior quailty mostly the chaff and reminanse of the tea process.
Loose leaf is the best buy and is the best quality, and I have used it for years from the Chinese varietys, I like good Sencha green Japanese teas, Black teas from England, Ireland and Scotland, the blends are some what different.
The second fellow has a point, but for the best tasting cup loose leaf of any variety is best, a tea ball, the mesh metal holders for use in you pot, for a single cup I buy a package of cheesecloth at the Dollar stores and then cut small pieces add one good spoon of tea and a tie with cotton string, it may seem to be a hassle for a tea bag but the flavour is all there, here in Canada we have 2 very good brands of bagged tea I use, either Red Rose by Lipton or an english import called PG Tips, you can order them on-line in the U.S from here to have the same experience, I have never had a good cup in the US, the tea bags there are just to weak.
